Great Western Railway: Gloucester to London trains

The average journey from Gloucester to London takes between one hour and forty minutes to two hours with Great Western Railway.

As you travel East towards the UK capital, you’ll pass through the Cotswolds, and the North Wessex Downs before reaching Reading, both designated as ‘National Landscapes’, meaning they are areas of outstanding natural beauty and filled with rich sceneries of rolling green fields, ancient forests, and old country manors. As your train chugs along, you’ll notice the backdrop change from countryside to suburbs to the city of London.

Great Western Railway services include routes to the West of England and South Wales and inter-city trains to West London and the Thames Valley. It even offers a sleeper service that connects London with Penzance on the Cornish coast, a rarity for UK train operators.

Departing from Gloucester

Gloucester station can be found on Bruton Way between the edge of the city centre of Gloucester and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The station does not have a taxi rank, although it is easily accessible by public buses at the front and back of the station.
