Digital Railcards are electronic versions of traditional railcards that offer discounted train fares in the UK. Instead of carrying a physical card, you can store and display your Railcard in your TrainPal Account. Once purchased, it can be shown to ticket inspectors directly from your device.

How do I use a Railcard?

To use a Railcard, you need to purchase a UK train ticket at TrainPal and activate the digital Railcard within 30 days.

What happens if I lose my device?

If you lose your device, simply download the TrainPal app on a new device, log into your account, and access your stored Railcard.

How do I renew my Railcard online?

It's super easy! If your Railcard is expiring in the next 30 days or has already expired, you will see a "Renew" button in the TrainPal app. Click on "Renew" and follow the steps. You can renew your Railcard with just a couple of clicks. You won't need to enter your ID number or upload your photo again (except for Two Together Railcard holders who want to change the second cardholder).

How do I add a Railcard?

Regardless of whether your Railcard was purchased from TrainPal or another platform, you can add it when searching for tickets.

Can I claim a refund if I don't use my Railcard?

No. Unfortunately, once a railcard has been issued it is non-refundable.

Why has my Railcard been blocked?

If we detect suspicious activity on your Railcard, it will be blocked until we can speak with you. During this time, your Railcard will not be valid for travel.\n\nTo resolve this, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Login to TrainPal app
Step 2: Find your blocked Railcard.
Step 3: Select ‘Contact us’.
Step 4: Describe your circumstances and submit.

Am I eligible to renew my Railcard?

16-17 Saver: Renew if still 17. Consider a 16-25 Railcard if nearing 18.

26-30 Railcard: Renew if valid before 31st birthday. Consider other Railcards if over 30.
