Catch a simple train from Doncaster to Manchester Airport and get there in 1 hour 37 minutes with TransPennine Express. There is no direct train between these two stations, so you need to make a quick and easy change at Stockport.
During your journey, you'll emerge from Doncaster, roughly following the line of the city's namesake, the River Don. Skirting the smaller towns of South Yorkshire, you'll head past Rotherham towards the Meadowhall shopping centre, before continuing west through Sheffield and into the glorious, rugged scenery of the Peak District. Once you've travelled through some idyllic Derbyshire villages, you'll notice the landscape start to become more urban as you approach the Greater Manchester conurbation.
As their name implies, TransPennine Express run trains across the Pennines, originating from Liverpool and Manchester, and travelling to Glasgow on the West Coast, as well as Edinburgh, the North East and Yorkshire on the East Coast.
